The conference Protection of critical infrastructure facilities was held in Zagreb

The participants of the conference Protection of critical infrastructure facilities had the opportunity to hear information related to the protection of critical infrastructure facilities from various aspects, presented in a way that they could follow changes in national legislation. The need to change the regulations that regulate the protection of critical infrastructure facilities in Croatia was generated by the new CER directive of the European Union, which refers to increasing the resilience of critical infrastructure and on the basis of which the new Critical Infrastructure Act is being drafted, and the NIS2 directive, the provisions of which are included in the Cyber Security Act, which was adopted in February 2024. The goal of the directives is to establish a comprehensive framework related to the resistance of the critical infrastructure object regarding all hazards, whether natural or caused by human intentional or accidental action, and to ensure equal conditions for the protection of critical subjects in the EU.

Various technical solutions for the protection of critical infrastructure facilities were also presented, from perimeter protection, access control and video surveillance based on equipment resistant to mechanical and cyber-attacks to integration solutions via PSIM software. Special emphasis is placed on the cyber security of equipment and software and the measures that need to be implemented.

Special thanks to M.sc. Dražen Dorić and Fedja Vehabović for their valuable presentations.
