On November 19, 2024, at the invitation of the Slovensko združenje za požarno varstvo (SZPV), a professional lecture on the topic of evacuation sound systems was held in Lukovica pri Domžalah. The aim of this event was to provide additional education for approval inspectors and experts in the field of fire protection.
The lecture began with an introductory presentation by Aleš Drnovšek, Head of the SZPV Regulatory Department, focusing on standards and regulations related to evacuation sound systems, with a particular emphasis on the situation in Slovenia and the EU.
The main part of the lecture was delivered by Vedran Mihaljević, an expert from Alarm automatika, lasting over three hours. The program covered:
- Basics and design of evacuation sound systems,
- Application of EN54-32 and EN50849 standards,
- Interactive discussions with the audience.
Around 40 participants, primarily testers for whom the lecture was targeted, actively engaged and shared experiences. In addition to its educational objectives, the lecture was incorporated into the points system of the Chamber of Engineers of Slovenia, highlighting its professional value.
Such collaboration and knowledge-sharing are essential for further improving safety standards and practices in the region.
